Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Commissioner Gulzar Hussain Shah stated that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will inaugurate Leh Expressway Project on December 25, according to media reports.

As per the details shared, Commissioner Shah made this announcement after presiding over a meeting, where he asked the stakeholders to resolve their issues and work to eliminate hurdles and bottlenecks faced during the implementation and designing of the project.
In related news, it was reported that Bahria Town has offered to help Rawalpindi Development Board (RDA) to start work on the 18-kilometre signal-free Leh Expressway. According to details, the Leh Expressway will stretch from Ammar Shaheed Chowk in Rawalpindi to Islamabad Expressway via IJP Principal Road.

Moreover, it was disclosed that RDA has forwarded the request of Bahria Town to the Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA). Under this proposal, the real estate group – Bahria Town – will handle the commercial construction of the project at a cost of PKR 83 billion.
It was revealed the Punjab government will only cover the cost of land acquisition, which amounts to PKR 15 billion.
