Faisalabad: Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday announced Rs.13bn development package for Faisalabad. He further stated that the executive of the province has approved 13 Special Economic Zones (SEZs). Among these 13 SEZs, the seven had already been notified.
CM Buzdar projected these remarks while addressing a group of personalities from export and traders background. As per the CM statement, for the betterment of the living standards of people projects such as health and educational infrastructure would be developed.
Then CM Usman Buzdar also met with a group of All Pakistan Mines and Minerals Association. This esteemed group was headed by its President Mir Behroz Reki Baloch. The CM took the delegation into confidence for the lift of the ban on the mining of coal.
In addition to that, he also assured the members that the Punjab cabinet is already processing the lift of the ban on mining and renewal of mining lease permits. He also said that several options are under consideration to review the brick-kilns construction and development near settled areas and that these will be reviewed to make them more green and sustainable.
CM Buzdar also issued instructions directed towards the Mines and Environment department to duly submit a well-versed report about the green technologies to be incorporated by these Smokey brick-kilns. He pledged the fullest support for the development of the mining industry in Punjab.
