Lahore: According to press reports published on Thursday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Lahore has improved, and the pollution level has also decreased, with a recorded particulate matter (PM) rating of 160, bringing the city into the ‘unhealthy’ category from a more hazardous one.

The rain that persisted throughout the night, according to the specifics, not only made the weather chilly but also enhanced the air quality. The air quality index at Sundar Industrial Estate in Lahore was 169, National Hockey Stadium was 157, Town Hall was 104, and Township Sector C2 was 61, according to a tweet from Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA).

Moreover, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast further rain in Lahore, implying that the AQI would drop even further. According to reports, particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, ground-level ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon monoxide are used to calculate the AQI.
