Lahore: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said Monday that an anti-Qabza mafia cell has been set up to eradicate land grabbers from the provincial capital.

Mr. Dogar said the Punjab Government informed the Group, which included members of the Police, Revenue, LDA, the Overseas Pakistan Commission, and the Cooperative Departments. The Commission shall deal with the cases and concerns of residents surrounding the purchase of land.
The cell was constituted on the recommendations of the commission, he explained, emphasizing that people should dial 1242 to contact the police.
He also said the descriptions of the properties and weapons of the suspected land grabbers were revised so that these offenders’ affairs were managed in compliance with the rules.
He, therefore, claimed that the police would also act quickly against these guilty parties in a coordinated way, as per the data obtained from the monitoring of prominent land grabbers.

The CCPO said the Lahore police would market the helpline and the cell to educate people about their rights and the facilities.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, addressing a press conference at his office to review measures to address public concerns at the grassroots level, instructed that concrete measures should be taken to address the problems faced by customers at their doorstep, stating that the new structure of local bodies would usher in a new era of growth at the fundamental level.
