Islamabad: Chairman China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC) Authority (retired) Lt General Asim Saleem Bajwa has announced that the development of road infrastructure Balochistan is a key priority of the government to advance connectivity of Gwadar port with other parts of the world, according to news sources.

Reportedly, General Bajwa shared photos and a map of under-construction roads on Twitter and revealed that 60% of development work has been accomplished in the 106-kilometre-long Basima-Khuzdar road (N-30) project.
The said road is expected to be completed by the year-end, with an estimated cost of PKR 11.749 billion.
Mr Bajwa also announced the initiation of construction on Hoshab-Awaran road. The Hoshab-Awaran road project is 146-kilometre long and is an integral part of the CPEC central alignment – linking Gwadar Port with Sindh.
The road project is being developed with an estimated cost of PKR 20 billion and is expected to be completed in three years.

CPEC Authority chaiman said that presently road projects in South Balochistan are in focus to improve Gwadar’s link with North.
Moreover, an official also revealed other road projects completed under CPEC Authority:
- 449-km Hoshab-Surab road (N-85)
- 235-km-long Surab-Quetta road (N-25)
- 193-km Gwadar-Hoshab road (M-8)
- 250-km Ratodero-Khuzdar road (M-8)
