Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has announced that any commercial construction or development is hereby banned within 100 meters of the Rawalpindi Ring Road. As per the sources of skymarketing, this significant news was announced by RDA on 23rd October 2020.

This was implemented by the Rawalpindi Development Authority to maintain and effectively implement modern urban planning codes. This decision was adopted by the 50th meeting of the governing body of RDA. This exclusive meeting was chaired by RDA’s Chairman, Tahir Mehmood Murtaza.
Many decisions were made in the meeting, including approving the urban development plan for all tehsils except Rawalpindi Tehsil. The RDA will assign zones and provide developers with the necessary information to start and expand their real estate projects.

In conjunction, the governing body also decided to establish a technical committee comprising five members. This committee will function under the supervision of the Member of Provincial Assembly, Haji Mehmood Chaudhry. It will classify the institutions in 15 days. This will also be given tasks such as removing the encroachments and starting the development in the cities.
The members of this high-level meeting also approved new rules and regulations for the development of residential projects in Rawalpindi and for the approval of housing apartments for RDA employees. Approval of the construction of a plaza for commercial reasons on available lands in Civil Lines and also Sherpao Colony.
