Islamabad: According to an official source, the 2 MW Bhimber Dam Project will be finished by March 2024 at the cost of Rs. 86.089 million. The Bhimber Dam Project is located on Bhimber Nullah, about 10 kilometers upstream from the Bhimber-Gujrat Road Bridge in Azad Kashmir’s District Bhimber.
On September 30, 2020, the Government of AJ&K approved the inclusion of the Bhimber Dam Project in the current Financial Year’s Annual Development Programme, with a budget of Rs. 60.564 million.
WAPDA will make every effort to finish the project study within the PC-II cost that has already been submitted and has requested that PC-II approval, allocation, and release of money be arranged.
On 14 January 2021, the PC-II Proforma for the feasibility study was submitted to MoWR for approval by a competent forum. DDW asked WAPDA to hire consultants to complete the feasibility assessment.
