Islamabad: According to a news published on 19th January, Margalla Avenue will soon become functional for traffic, as announced by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman, Captain (retired) Muhammad Usman Younis.

As per sources, the news was disclosed through a video shared by CDA Chairman. Mr. Chairman discussed the progress of the long-awaited road of Margalla Avenue. He also divulged that the long-awaited road would soon become functional for traffic. However, Mr. Younis did not reveal the project’s inauguration date. Still, the progress of Margalla Avenue indicates that the project is near completion and will become functional in no time.

As per the details of the project, Margalla Avenue is a 33-kilometer-long highway developed in the Margalla hills suburbs of Islamabad. The project holds great importance for traffic because it is expected to be an alternative to Srinagar Highway. The initiative will ease citizens’ access to the N-5 National Highway. Moreover, Margalla Avenue will become a vital part of the Rawalpindi Ring Road, connecting Sangjani (N-5 National Highway) to Bhara Kahu (Murree Expressway).
