Karachi: As per the latest news, it is announced by the German Consulate, General Holger Ziegeler, that German master clockmakers, Perrot Tower Clocks and Bell Ringers, will help Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to overhaul the 1935 historic clock tower of the old KMC building that is positioned on MA Jinnah Road.

Reportedly, the consulate has taken up the project to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Pakistan-Germany relations. The project is significant in preserving cultural heritage. As per the reports, the German clockmaker will help with the repair work as the local clockmakers are not qualified enough to maintain and ensure the reliable functioning of the clock tower.

It was shared by the visiting master technician, Berthold Rapp, that the company provides services to restore historical installations dating back to the 1500s. The German consulate showed gratitude over receiving funds for the project. Moreover, he revealed that the technician was cooperating with KMC to conduct repairs and guide on the functioning of the clock in the future.
