Karachi: The 6th Coordination Committee composed between the Sindh Government and the federal Government’s chaired meeting about land development issues by Mauripur Expressway and IC Interchange Project.

In the meeting they stated that the Request for Proposal (RFP) for Mauripur Expressway and IC Interchange Project was issued in June last year. Relevantly, technical bids were opened in September. The Project’s location like Interchange at Lyari Bridge, Elevated U-turn, Marine Academy Flyover, Kakapir Road Widening and Flyover, Salt Field Area, ICI Flyover Ramp Road widening near ICI Intersection and ICI Flyover connections all lies under the authority of Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Pakistan Railways (PR) and National Highway Authority (NHA). The NOCs of these departments are required to make more developments with the project.

The coordination committee directed implied departments to issue no-objections certificates to launch the project in response. The meeting took measures to reduce the Right of Way (RoW) to 20 ft while discussing the Gujjar and Orangi Nullah rehabilitation. After that a wall alongside the Nullah will be developed within 2 feet and a 2-lane road project will be developed.
The meeting was directed PC-1 for their immediate rehabilitation was tabled before the Planning & Development Department for approval and PKR 1 billion of PKR 2 billion allocated for the project has been released.
