According to the news source that gave an account on August 22. The government is considering alternatives to outsource the country’s airport capacities, where a board of trustees already have submitted a report to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on this issue.
The Advisor on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood which lead the committee in the ‘Report on Outsourcing of Major Airports of Pakistan’ suggested the foundation of two elements following the proposed division of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The proposed Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) will be responsible for performing administrative functions, while the Pakistan Airports Authority will be entrusted with overseeing airports. The partition will be done after approval from the CAA Board.
In the following, the step the government will find a way to outsource the airports. First, the airports will be transformed into partnerships to attract investors following which private investments will be pulled in.
