Karachi: According to news published in national publications on May 11, the Sindh government has placed a criterion for issuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for housing societies in the province.

The decision was made at a meeting governed by Environment Minister Mohammad Ismail Rahu. Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) Director-General Naeem Ahmed Mughal and other important officials were present.

According to the facts, the government has decided to provide NOCs to new housing developments only if land for greenbelts has been allocated. It was disclosed that having property set aside for green belts before the building is required. The government made this decision regarding the province’s recent heatwaves, which many scientists attribute to climate change.

Furthermore, the government has asked SEPA Director-General Mughal to develop new tree plantation regulations for housing projects in light of rising temperatures.
