Lahore: As per the latest news, the World Bank will provide a loan of about USD 200 million for the “Green Development Project” to the Punjab government.
The provincial government will install air and water quality monitoring systems in ten districts, including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Multan, Lahore, Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan, and others. In the meeting, it was also declared that the water and air quality monitoring systems would be installed at 15 and 30 places, respectively.

Chief Minister disclosed in the meeting that USD 50 million Environment Endowment Fund would be set under the Green Development Project. In Lahore, the environment-friendly pilot project will be inaugurated with 25 electric buses.

It was also declared in the meeting that there would be legislation to avoid using plastic to improve the environment. In order to adopt an energy-efficient building plan, solar panels will be installed on the roofs of governmental buildings.
