Quetta: A new pipeline of 152 kilometers in length has been installed in Gwadar. The pipeline will link two newly-constructed dams Sod and Shadi Kor. People of Gwadar will soon get clean drinking water from nearby dams. The project aims to cover the water shortage in Gwadar.
Clean water resources have always been scarce in Gwadar. The region still faces a worse water shortage. However, Public Health Engineering (PHE) Secretory, Saleh Baloch, said “The officials are working on the matter and they will soon overcome the issue. Any negligence in the matter will not be tolerated.”

While attending the meeting on Gwadar’s Ab-noshi project, Public Health Engineering (PHE) Secretory, Saleh Baloch, said the work on the dams has been initiated and the distribution of clean water supply to the residents would be ensured. He further said the capacity of Shadi Kor dam is 35 thousand acre-feet, while the other one, Sod dam is 46 thousand acre-feet.

The China-Pakistan-Economic Corridor (CPEC) has initiated multiple projects in Gwadar. For instance, The Master Plan of Gwadar has been introduced in the region which aims to cover multiple projects. The project includes the provision of clean water distribution in the coastal areas of Gwadar, implementation of water supply, a fair distribution system, purification plants, and a clean sewerage system.
