Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) directed the house owners and dealers to notify their regional police station before renting out their houses in Islamabad on January 4.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Mr. Hamza Shafqat, said that Section 144 had been implemented on the blind brokers and owners; under this section, they are not allowed to rent property without submitting tenant details to the local police station. The detailed information about residents will help police locate the criminal suspects who try to hide in rental places.

This rental policy was introduced in the year 2009 by CDA. Under section 144 following details are required for tenants to provide:
Name of the tenant
Father’s name
CNIC number
Occupation
Number of family members
After getting all this information verified, the tenants can move freely to their required apartments.
