Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Usman Buzdar gave orders to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to finish the practicability study of the electric tram project on Canal Road on Tuesday (January 11).

According to news sources, Mr. Buzdar directed that the project design be completed as the first priority for the construction to begin sooner. He also stated that the project is very important for the development of Lahore. The project will help to reduce traffic jams on Canal Road because the tram would be ‘Pakistan’s first electric-powered tram system’. Every effort is important to build it on schedule.

It was stated that the project’s development will begin soon. The LDA Director General (DG) Mr. Ahmad Aziz Tarar, Vice Chairman (VC) Mr. Naeem-ul-Haq, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister were also present at the meeting.
