Khyber: Malaysian Ambassador to Pakistan Ikram Bin Mohammad Ibrahim paid a private visit to the Khyber Tribal District on Monday and met a jirga of local elders and planting saplings as part of the spring tree plantation in the region.

On a special invitation from Senator Taj Mohammad, he had come to Khyber and stayed at his hujra in Shah Kas Jamrud. Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Eng Shaukatullah was present as well.

Addressing the tribal jirga, the Malaysian ambassador said that his country had a long-standing friendship with Pakistan that would survive in times to come.

While thanking the tribal elders for their warm welcome, he said the bordering regions of Pakistan had their unique traditions and culture. Also, as businessmen, they have been very peaceful people for centuries.

He said he had learned a lot about local culture and customs during his contact with tribal jirga members.
