Islamabad: According to the latest news reports, the initial findings of the 7th national and first-ever digital census have been revealed to the public. The revelations were made by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) Chief Census Commissioner and Chief Statistician Naeem Uz Zafar.

Mr Zafar held a press conference stating that the total population of Pakistan has reached 249,566,743 – which rounds off to a population of 249.5 million or 25 Crores. As per the findings, the population of the country has increased by 49 million (around 4.9 Crores) as compared to the results of the previous census.
The provincial breakdown of the census is given below:
- Punjab is the most populous province with a population of 127,474,000, which rounds off to 127.4 million or 12.7 Crores
- The population of Sindh has reached 57,931,000, rounding off to 57.9 million or 5.7 Crores
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has a population of 39,823,000, which rounds off to 39.7 million or 3.9 Crores
- Balochistan is the largest province with an overall population of 21,977,000, which rounds off to 21.9 million or 2.1 Crores
- The population of the federal capital Islamabad has reached 2,359,422, which rounds off to 2.3 million or 23 lacs
