Quetta: The Model Customs Collectorate (Appraisement) Quetta recently announced that it had gone above the collection target stipulated by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), according to a news report published.

According to the details, the FBR had set a target of PKR 3.7 billion for the July-March period of 2020-21, whereas, the Models Customs Collectorate surpassed the target by 46% to PKR 5.4 billion in the first nine months of the fiscal year, with PKR 1.7 billion being collected under the head of customs duty alone.

The Collectorate seized goods worth of PKR 9.41 million including 1,115 non-custom paid vehicles alongside 4 million liters of Iranian diesel/petrol. Furthermore, tires, betel nuts, cloth, cigarettes, auto parts, electronics and medicines worth billions of rupees were also confiscated.

The officials stated that Collectorate is monitoring the situation at all times to fight back against mis-declaration, promote facilitation of trade through cutting down clearance time. Moreover, improvement to the system of grievance redressal is also a priority as well strict adherence to transparent and merit-based decision making.
