Lahore: According to press reports, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to split the Sagian Interchange restoration project into two packages. It is expected that work on the PKR 2.99 billion project will begin on January 25.

According to sources, Package One will cost PKR 1.50 billion and will comprise the construction of a road from Saggian Interchange Band Road to Phool Mandi and Faiz Pur Interchange. The construction of a road from Phool Mandi to Sheikhupura Road, which will take eight months and cost PKR 1.48 billion, is the second phase.

It is pertinent to mention that LDA recently issued a list of companies that have prequalified for the Sagian Road project. The Punjab government’s multibillion-rupee road infrastructure improvement project for the provincial capital includes the repair of Sagian Road. Commuters and heavy traffic utilize the road to enter and exit the city, making it one of the busiest in the city.
