SC judge seeks details of CDA’s development work

Islamabad: The Supreme Court judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa has sought information from the Capital Development Authority chairman regarding the cost incurred on a number of projects in the capital city like the installation of security cameras under the safe city project and at different government buildings.

The information Justice Isa had sought include disclosure of the use of public money spent on the newly constructed wall, watchtowers, barbed-wire and cameras atop the wall around Baluchistan House, Sindh House, Minister’s Enclave’.

Furthermore, he also sought information about cost of painting (black and yellow) the curbsides in Islamabad, and the quantity of paint used besides the cost of the Safe City Project.

In front of the Minister’s Enclave, a high and unusable pavement is being constructed through the replanted jacaranda trees, which will destroy these trees once again.

What purpose do cameras and thousands of deployed policemen serve if fortress height walls are built, razor-sharp barbed wire installed atop them and watchtowers raised, Justice Isa wondered.
