Karachi: Following the Supreme Court’s (SC) decision to demolish illegal constructions in the city, affected residents of Karachi on Tuesday, met with President Dr. Arif Alvi, according to media.

During the discussion with the affected people, the President said that amenity plots had previously been used for commercial and residential purposes with the involvement of the Metropolitan Corporation and departmental authorities.
Furthermore, the President stated that the court had put a halt to the construction of structures on amenity plots as well as the illegal allotment of plots. He also instructed the builders to use caution while dealing with such matters.

Residents of Nasla Tower, Aladin Park, and Gujjar Nullah, as well as members of the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) and representatives of South City Hospital, voiced their concerns to the president. In response, Dr. Alvi assured the people that he will address their issues on various forums.
According to court rulings, roughly 900 buildings would be demolished and 40 to 50 thousand people will be affected.
