Quetta: According to the latest news, Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo met with United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator for Pakistan Julien Harneis to discuss concerns facing the province’s environmental challenges. The government, according to the CM, is prepared to deal with the problems with the help of the UN and other international organizations (IOs).

According to Julien, the organization is working on master planning for climate change mitigation and environmental restoration programs throughout Pakistan. The survey for this planning will take four months to complete and provide a clear picture of the province’s difficulties. Canals in four provincial districts, including Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Sohbatpur, and Jhal Magsi, will be improved as part of the plan.

The meeting also discussed the four districts’ inadequate drainage systems and advocated for a plan to reduce environmental risks and human life risks. Furthermore, all sides pledged to continue their collaborative efforts to improve the province’s living standards, including a long-term planning framework.
