Islamabad: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed inaugurated the upgraded CDA Medical Centre in G-9 with the addition of a model vaccination centre.

The model vaccination centre has been established with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO). WHO Regional Director for Eastern Mediterranean Dr Ahmed Al-Mandhari also attended the inaugural ceremony.

Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI) Administrator Syeda Shafaq Hashmi, WHO country representative Dr Palitha Mahipala and Director General (Health Services) Dr Hassan Urooj were also present.

The minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan led the nation successfully in the time of the health crisis and Covid-19 cases had started to decline.

Dr Urooj also said with the support of WHO, the DHS had registered Islamabad in the International Healthy City Network.

He also appreciated WHO’s vital support towards developing a model and a comprehensive healthcare program in Islamabad.
