Multan: Work on the south Punjab secretariat, including construction of the chief minister’s office, has been expedited after the provincial government released Rs 1.95 billion for the project.

Addressing the meeting, ACS Zafar directed that work on the project be expedited, saying no delay in the construction of south Punjab secretariat would be tolerated.
He said he would personally supervise construction of the secretariat and a meeting would be held every week to review the progress.
“Rs 2,400 million are being spent on this project covering an area of 404 kanal located on Mattital Road. Out of the total approved cost, Rs 1,950 million has been released for the project,” he explained.

Mr. Zafar further said the project also comprised construction of the chief minister’s office as well as offices for the ACS, additional inspector general of police and secretaries of 15 departments. He said the project is likely to be completed by August 2023.
