Islamabad News: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) plans to construct a new interchange in Islamabad that links Sector I-16 with the Srinagar Highway. The project’s summary is submitted in the National Assembly by Senator Syed Moshin Raza Naqvi, the Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control.

The Federal Minister stated that CDA Sector I-16 is under construction and that a wide range of residential units are being built. However, the sector lacks an adequate road network connecting it to other parts of Islamabad. He also emphasised that this interchange is part of the Islamabad master plan to link I-16 with the Srinagar Highway.

According to the summary submitted to the National Assembly, the interchange is going to be built at the intersection of 17th Avenue and the Srinagar Highway. A service road connecting Sectors H-16 and H-17 will also be constructed as part of this project.
Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi informed the house that several roads and avenues are planned to ensure smooth traffic flow across the Capital City. He briefed on the steady construction of 10th Avenue, while 16th Avenue is in its feasibility stage. 16th Avenue is another major road connecting Sectors H-15 and H-16 to the rest of the city.

The Federal Minister informed that the construction of the new interchange and 16th Avenue reflects the demand for smooth traffic flow and the city’s expansion requirements. These projects not only alleviate traffic congestion but also enhance Islamabad’s infrastructure.
